H.R. Diagram

1. The main squence of the H.R Diagram is to show relationships between aboslute maginitude and tempature of a star.

2.There is about 90 percent of stars on this diargram and our star the Sun is one of the stars that is on thier.

3. The sun is a main squence star.

4.What will happen is that the sun will burn out in a bout 4 billion years from now.

5.The picture above is about the H.R. diagram which shows the main squences of the stars that is in our galaxy which our the main squence.

Stars and Stars name

1. The 10 stars are the Sun, Barnards star, Ross, Rigil kentaurs, Alpha Centauri, Sirrus, Proxima, Lyten, Procyn, and Wolf 359.

2. The star that I choose is the Alpha Centauri star.

3. The Alpha Centauri is one of three Centauri stars that are one of the brightiest stars in the galaxy and in the universe.

4. Some scientist think that there is a planet near or close to the stars because. They had released a paper saying that there might be anorther planet that holds life because. They had a reading that there was a cloud that formed near the stars that previously created and formed the Earth.

5.The Alpha Centauri is near and possibly located in the Milky Way Galaxy.

6.The Alpha Centauri is about 23.7 Astromonicla Units from Earth.

Project

Titan

Titan is one of Saturns moon and the second largest moon in the Solar System. Scientist have said that Titan has an atmosphere and could possible habe held water, but the water is frozen due to it's low surface tempature. The Voyager was suppose to take pictures of Titan like the atmosphere and the ground if it could. The Voyager could not get a picture of the ground because of Titans dense clouds. It is larger that bot Mecury and Pluto. The tempature is -289 degrees.

Dark Energy

Dark Enegy makes up about 70 percent of the Universe that we live in and sometimes see. Scientist at Nasa are trying to determine that properties. That make up Dark Energy. They are using telescopes like the Hubble Telescope and future telescopes as well. In trying to determine dark energy. Scientist at Nasa are saying that Supernovas and Dark Energy are trying to over power each other for a type of reason that they do not understand yet.

Black Holes

Black Holes are or is a region in space where the gravitational pull is so strong that nothing can escape it. Black holes are so strong because all of the black holes energy is at the center of it and all of the matter in the black hole is in a small concentrated center. Nasa is saying that black holes from when a star loses it nuclear fuel and is crushed by its own gravitational pull. So this is a way that black holes from. Astronomers are saying that Milky Way Galaxy ( the galaxy that we live in) contains about a million of black holes.

Ultimate Fate of the Unvierse

The ultimate fate of the universe cannot be determined yet because. It might changed in the future. Scientis at Nasa are saying that it is depending on gravity like the push and pull theory. Also about Earth in the future as well. Some of them is also talking and telling about how life might live long or short time. It is really unpredictable, but in the future are in sometime they might make a logic prediction or an hypothesis that what really might happen in the future.

Saturn Rings

Saturn has seven thin and flat rings around the planet. The rings makes Saturn one of the most beatiful planets in the universe. The rings are basically around the equator of the planet and the rings do no touch the planet as well. The rings were discovere around sometime in the 1600s. It was discovered by the Italien astronomer Galileo. Anorther astronomer by the name of Huygens said that. There is a very thin and flat ring around the planet Saturn. In 1980 all of the rings were discovered in this year and time.

Wind Effects

1.The three factors are: Friction, Pressure Gradiant, and Coriolos Effect.

2. The most important is Pressure Gradiant because it is the amount of pressure change occuring over a given amoune of time that is needed like distant.

3.If the Coriolos Effect did not happen then we really would not be moving as we did. Like the Earth would not be rotating as it do then. If we did not have this effect.

Air masses

1. The four type of air mass are cP, mP, cT, and mT.

2. The one that brings me or us the most favorite type of weather is martime Tropical because. It is near or located near the equator where the is a lot of warm weather.

3. The five things that I like is :

  • Warm weather

  • sunny out

  • get to play with friends

  • walk around

  • where t-shirt or shorts.

Types of clouds

1.Three high clouds might be Cirrocumulus, Cirrus, and Cirrostratus, middle are: Altocumulus, Altostratus, and Cumulonimbus, lower clouds: Cumulus, stratocumulus, and stratus.

2.It is the Cumulus clouds they are almost every where in the atmosphere since u see them when you look up most of the time.

3.This type of cloud can bring cloudy, rainy, and thunderstorm weather since this cloud is like a mix of warm and cold air

Offshore Drilling

1. Offshore drilling is when you drill off the coast looking for oil and pumping oil and transporting it.
2.It is good because the US will be able to make its own oil supply and rely on other countries.
3. It is bad because the US might have anorther oil spill right outside or on the coast of a beach of a state.
4.I feel that it is about time for the US to make and produced its own oil so we do not have to rely on foreighn countries

GREENHOUSE EFFECT

1.The greenhouse effect is the heating of Earth do to the presence of greenhouse gases.

2.The three most common gases are Carbon Dioxide, Methane ,andNitrious Oxide.

3. They are produced by defestoration, cars, decaying plants or little tiny paricles, oceans, and bacteria in soil.

4. The impact that it has in our society is greatly impacted our society. Like some researchers are saying that this type of climate is good for our farming and producing food. While in some other cases it is dangerous like our oceans and seas are slowly starting to warm which means that they are starting to rise increasing the sea level. They say that global warming is also leading to health effects and the health effect right now is heat itself because. Heat can cause heat strokes and other health effects.

5. Well I say that it is both because. Global warming helps us produce our food like corn much faster than any other century, but it also leads up to health concerns like strokes or passing out from dehydration. Which can easily kill us if we do no act now. So basically i am for it but at the same time I am not for it.

Volcanic Eurpt

Mt. Cleveland which is located in Alsaka. It is at an altitude 8550 feet up in the air. This type of volcanoe is at a yellow warning which means. It is not showing a sign of eurption but it is showing signs that it could eurpt. It is a type of volcanoe called a composite. Which means it the most dangerous type of volcanic eurptions

Earthquake and Hurrican

1. The two articles that I read were Earthquake hit Japan and Indonesia and the second one was Sea Floods Texas Island; Get Out or Certain Death.

2.The first was Earthquake hit Japan and it was about an earthquake that hit the Japanese coastline and anorther earthquake that had hit Indonesia. The one that hit Japan was a 7.0 and the one that had hit Indonesia was 6.6

3. The second was Sea Flodd Texas Island; Get Out or Certain Death. This article is based around hurrican Ike. They are telling the people of this Texas Island to leave the island because if they do not leave the island. They are going to die thats why the said " Get Out or Certain Death.

4. The most disasterous is hurrican Ike because. They are already telling people to get out and leave the island because hurrican Ike is gaining so much strength over the Gulf of Mexico and is only getting stronger.

5.The earthquake and hurrican Ike are simlar becuase bot of them are natural disasters and can cause a lot of damage. They are not alike because an earthquake orginates from a focus thats on a fault and a hurrican orginates from a thunderstorm that comes into the Atlantic Ocean

Earhquakes

Earhquakes tend to happen around the pacific coast. Which happens in the San Fransico Bay area in Califronia. Which has a lot of earthquakes in this type of area.

I think it is this because of the fault that is right near there. Which earthquakes tend to happen right where the faults would be at.

Also there can be the plates that are moving right there under that particular area. The area where this happens is called the San Andreas fault where there was the San Fransico earthquake had happen it and orginated at.

The closest earthquake is in the region of Southern Missouri. Which the magintude was 2.7 and happen Tuesday September 2, 2008.

The earthquake that happen in the last seven days has been in the Southeastern of Missouri. Which happened on the day of September 2, 2008. Which people as far away as Clarksville, Texas felt it. Its magintude was 2.7 and the depth was 9.4 Km

Real Life example of Mass Movement

This week in class we learned and talked about mass movement. We also talked about the 5 types of mass movement which is rockfall, rockslide, slump, mudflow, and earthflow. Each of these are different types of mass movement.

The type I choose to talke about is mudflow. A mudflow is mud that flows quickly or fast. This type of flow is dangerous because it is destrouctive flow. This flow take deberis for miles all the way until it can get to a stoping point. People think that this flow is harmless and cannot do anything but this is one of mother natures most destrouctive forces. This type of flow can hurt and damage buildings, people, and our enviorment and ecosystem . So it is a type of flow that should not be taken lightly. This type flow happens in areas like mountains, pleatues, and some hills. So be very cautious if you encounter this type of flow

Geothermal Energy

Today we learned. Renewable and non-renewable resources. That had included Geothermal, Wind, Solar, and Water energy. All of these energies are good and they also have thier drawbacks also.

But my favorite energy is Geothermal. I like it beacause of it deals with the heat. It is some what and endless supply of energy right now. If you want this type of renewable energy you have to first. Drill a hole that is narrow but also very deep almost near lava ( magma). The next a machine that will take the heat to the Geothermal power plant. Then there it will be turned into power and be distributed into the houses of people. This energy also have drawbacks. Its major drawback is that if you build all of this near a volcanoe. There is a possibility that it will melt if the vocanoe eurpted and then you will to replace all that was gone and that will cost a lot of money to replace it. The estimate is no less that 16,000$.

My favorite map would have to be Gnomic Projection Map because. It is telling you or showing you a single point of the globe, but it is showing you the point or how it looks while it is flat. It is also showing you the himisphere as well and the equator. Since it is showing you how it will look if it was flat all the way around. It always includes the North Pole if it includes the top half of the hemisphers or it will include the South Pole and the other hempishers as well

Anthony Earth Scienc Earth science is the study of geology. Earth science may also include subdivisions such as geochemistrty, geophysics, geobiology, and paletology. All of this will help me learn about Earth science because. It is telling me about Earth but it is also breaking it down so I can understand Earth science better. Like geology is being broken down into two major parts that are called Physical geology and Historical geology. Physical geology is telling about the Earth. While Historical geology is telling about the past or the history of the Earth like how was the Earth formed. My favorite out of Earth science is Oceanography because. It helps you understand the oceans of the Earth and how they help it form. It tells you about the movement of the sea water. It will also help you understand the Marin life that happens at the bottom of the ocean. Like how the sharks or whales formed from the past all the way to the present.
